The NFA Celebrates Leone Buyse
with a Lifetime Achievement Award

News from the 2010 Convention in Anaheim, CA

Following the Friday evening Gala Concert at the NFA Convention, Leone poses with other performers on the recital.

Houston Flute Club Member Leone Buyse was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Flute Association Convention this year.  Fenwick Smith also received the award.  They were featured in a recital together on the Friday evening of the Convention, with Colette Valentine as pianist, and Michael Webster on Clarinet.  The second half of the recital featured performances by former students that they have been proud to nurture over the years.  Click on the link below to read Leone’s acceptance speech at the Convention.
