March Flutist of the Month

Born: In Milano.

Started playing flute: About twenty years old.

Teachers/Colleges: Civica Scuola di Musica in Milano.....Mostly taught myself and from my beginning, private studies with James Galway -- who has been my only teacher.

Favorite composer:  Mozart

What is your favorite flute work? all Mozart works

What kind of flute do you play?  14 karat Muramatsu (belonged to James Galway) and 14 karat Powell, Silver Powell, 14 karat Gold Haynes piccolo  .......original gold and silver Cooper head joints.

Why did you choose to be a professional musician and what do you feel is your greatest contribution to your audiences and students?  I became a musician because a friend of mine lent me his flute and I could not stop playing it! I really don't know what is my contribuition to students/audiencies....for sure respect and to give always the best of myself. .

What are you most important practice philosophies?  There are no short cuts to success.....only practice and dedication....and all Moyse!!

Every month, the Houston Flute Club selects a different artist to highlight on its Flutist of the Month page.  Houston area flutists are featured quarterly.
