Who is your favorite composer?
I really don’t have a favorite. I love lots of composers.
What is your favorite flute work?
Hmmm. Maybe the Telemann Fantasies? But, again, it’s hard to pick.
What kind of flute do you play?
1970’s gold Powell with Full Circle Louis Lot grenadilla headjoint.
Why did you choose to become a professional musician?
About halfway through high school, I just couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else and being really happy.
What do you strive to achieve in your performances?
I try to always play with strong intent, to connect emotionally to an audience.
Most important practice philosophy?
“Play with love!” For more, visit the June 2009 entries in my blog.
